Ακόμα κι αν το όχημά σας επισκευαστεί πλήρως, έχει ωστόσο μειωθεί η εμπορική του αξία, είτε επειδή είναι αδύνατο να επισκευαστεί και να επανέλθει απολύτως στην κατάσταση που βρισκόταν πριν το τροχαίο συμβάν, είτε απλώς επειδή ο μέσος αγοραστής είναι επιφυλακτικός με την αγορά οχήματος που έχει «τρακάρισμα» στο ιστορικό του και προσφέρει λιγότερα χρήματα για την αγορά του σε σχέση με αυτά που θα προσέφερε πριν το τροχαίο συμβάν.

Το αιτούμενο κονδύλιο εδώ είναι η διαφορά της εμπορικής αξίας του οχήματος πριν το τροχαίο συμβάν με την εμπορική αξία του επισκευασμένου οχήματος μετά το τροχαίο συμβάν.
